Guardians, DPP Release Brief Statements on NS Trial Outcome

Following requests for statements on the outcome of the Northern Sushi Trial, Carops and Farlane called a press conference this afternoon to field questions.

"...NS committed the crime and was punished for it. Today is a victory for all of Liberalia," stated Guardian Carops.

Farlane, the Director of Public Prosecutions, stated, " I felt that the GC did the best job they possibly could, especially under such stressful circumstances."

Guardian Four Hectares, who was the only Guardian to vote in favor of a 3-month ban instead of the 6-month sentence favored by the other three Guardians, was unable to attend the press conference but issued an official statement to the press.

"It is my belief that justice has been served. I found Northern Sushi guilty on at least two counts of Treason and on the charge of Spamming. Although I favored a lesser sentence of three months, I acccept the majority decision to make it a six-month ban. He certainly used to work hard for the region, which is why I am disappointed that he would try to harm the region in the way that he did. It is my hope that, after he has served his six-month term outside of the region, he will return with a new outlook on things, hold no grudges and once again become a productive citizen, but only time will tell."

The public's reaction to the verdict has been somewhat mixed. Grand Moffaul Tarkin, the leader of the Wulgarian Union, criticized the result and told Carops, Ardalia and Farlane that he was angry at them for being 'rude'. He also generalized Carops and Farlane as 'long angry men', even though he apparently agrees that Northern Sushi was a traitor. It is thought that his true message was somewhat lost in the translation. However, most citizens are thought to favor the ruling and the sentence.
