Debate Flares Over Articles Repeal

Earlier this afternoon, Farlane proposed a bill in Parliament that would repeal the Articles of Confederation. It's no secret that much of the Moderate Party was opposed to the Articles in the first place and they have apparently viewed the recent fiasco with the Guardian Council as their chance to get the law repealed.

The Moderates have attacked the Articles from all sides, calling them 'poorly written', 'self-conflicting' and a 'stupid piece of bureaucracy'. Julio Trigman, their original author, has fired back, claiming this is an attempt by the Moderates to turn the region into a one-party 'democracy', comparing that to what's happened in China.

Carops fired back, calling the Articles 'crap' and telling Trigman, "They have always been badly-written and you have always been wrong, end of story."

Speaker Curiaistan has retired to his offices to pour over the Articles, apparently to ensure they actually can be repealed, before he moves them on to the Debating Chambre. An annoucement is expected within the next half-hour.
